wedding photography gift registry
Have you ever received a wedding
invitation from a relative or old friend you haven’t seen for years...and
experienced the wedding gift dilemma?
What can you send someone who you really don’t
see enough to know what is
needed. That’s the whole concept
behind the Bridal Registry. Couples
register their wanted items at local department stores, and gift buyers can
wisely choose the best possible item the couple desires.
The Bridal Registry items of
today are very different than in the past.
Current wedding couples may
no longer require household items because they have been housekeeping for a number of years. This is where the wedding photo gift
registry is an exciting idea! The
wedding photo gift registry allows bridal guests to purchase wedding image and books for the wedding
couple. This is a gift that will not be returned!
How
to promote it......the couple.
The Wedding Photo Gift Registry
can be promoted by the wedding couple in different scenarios. First, the couple may want to send
a postcard mailing alerting guests
they are registered. We provide the
wedding couple with a combination of these cards. The first card is a “generic” we are
registered card, listing our name and contact information. The second card available is the
Registry Items Card. This card
shows a variety of Wedding Photo Gift Registry items including, a preview book
of 200 images, a 2-volume set, and a Leather Craftsmen leather upgrade. The third card promotes the ArtBox of
images. I have found that when the
prospective gift giver actually sees a product, they are more wiling to purchase
for the couple. Gift givers prefer
actual gift to a certificate. We
provide the couple with these promo cards.
We typically booked after the couple has come into the studio, over the
phone. When we mail out the
contract, we include about 10 cards for the couple. There may be some couples that are
embarrassed to discuss the gift registry with us. However, they are not embarrassed to give the
cards to their family or special
friends.
Some brides will have Art Box
shower themes well. The Art Box is made available for the
shower with images from the Get To Know
You Session (an informal session of the couple prior to the wedding
day).
The Art Box is started with
these images and wedding images are
added after the wedding.
The Wedding Photo Gift Registry is an opportunity to expose the client to
additional product sales. Items,
which they made, not have considered.
We have found our two-volume books sales increased once introducing it as
an item in our registry. During the
initial consultation, we present all the gift registry items (Leather Craftsmen
Book Upgrade, Preview Book, Two-Volume Set, Art Box and Frames). Couples minds are more open to the
additional items because these
items are not intruding on their wedding photography budget. Even if gift registry sales do not
materialize, the registry allows
presentation of additional products and sales , which can be purchased by the
wedding couple.
Gift
Registry promotes opens minds.
When a wedding couple comes in
for a consultation, we immediately start with a two volume Leather Craftsmen ArtBook set. I can tell by the look in the groom’s
eyes, he is thinking dollars. By
introducing the Wedding Photo Gift Registry at this time, his mind now shifts
from dollars to “gift”. The
couple’s mind is now open to the purchase of a 2-volume book set. Whereas prior
to the gift registry , they were not!
ArtBoxes are another perfect
gift registry item. What a
great item to promote as a “group
gift” among family and special friends.
Promotional postcards.
There are four promotional
Wedding Photo Gift Registry Postcards.
Three of the postcards are used by the couple to give to guests for
contact information. The fourth
card is given to the bride and groom
as an information card to explain the program.
generic card is 4x6 inches in size. It simple states the couple are
registered with us.
Products are NOT shown on this
card, allowing any item to be represented as registry item. Changing of registry items is easy with
this format.
products card is 4.5x8 inches. It contains a host of registry product
images as listed above, including a Leather Craftsmen upgrade or 2-volume
book set.
Art Box card is 4x6 inches. This card visually shows the Art
Box. We decided the ArtBox needed a
card alone because it is a new product for the client.
bride’s card is 4.5.8 inches. This card is given to the bride at the
wedding consultation as a reminder of the registry. Brides are overwhelmed with
a lot of information, from you and your competition! Leaving the Wedding Photo Gift Registry post card
(detailing the program) with the bride allows her to remember the program
exists. It is also a grand card to
use prior to bridal shows. We
imprinted “visit our booth to see a host or gift registry products”. Our purpose to have prospective bride
make sure they stop be our booth by enticing them with something unique.
How to
promote it.....the photographer.
The newest promotion for the Wedding Photo Gift Registry is via the
internee. We have the Wedding Photo Gift
Registry on our web site. We
find brides and grooms can now send prospective gift givers directly into a area
to view a list of gifts the couple has registered. Guests can also read about what the
registry is in the privacy of their home and time. The studio also mails
registry post cards after the wedding to persons listed on our data sheet. This sheet includes parents, siblings,
wedding party members, and grandparents.
Participants can then review it on our web site as well. We find the second most popular day for
the gift registry participation is the Monday after the wedding. A bonus of the
gift registry on our web sites allows more perspective client traffic and
exposes more people to our images and services. Our Online Wedding Photo Gift Registry may be added to your studio’s site
for a use fee. Please contact our
office for more details.
How
the program works.
The gift buyer may simply call
our office to place an order.
Guests can visit the registry on our web site, www.wendysaunders.com, and view registry items such as two volume book
sets, leather library bound upgrades, preview books and ArtBoxes. Gift-givers have the opportunity of
directly purchasing registry items on the site (using a fax or mail order). Once receiving a wedding photo gift
registry request, we will either credit the amount to the account of the
nuptial couple with a note informing the couple who presented the gift, or the
gift-giver may present the photo
card personally to the couple. An
ultimate gift idea for those out of town guests who don’t have a clue what the
wedding couple may desire. The
wedding photo gift registry is offered in gift values starting at
$45.
Wen Saunders Photojournalist provides wedding photo gift registry cards to the wedding couple at no charge. Then the wedding couple mails the postcards, after their invitation mailing (about 2 weeks). Or the couple may simply hand out cards to special friends and family. If the wedding couple is participating our web site for the bride and groom, they can simply give the our site for wedding guests to view and purchase registry gifts. The bride and groom may contact the studio at any time to verify registry purchases. The wedding photo gift registry is the perfect gift for the bride and groom!
