WEDDING PRODUCTION SESSION
MARKETING SESSION

Set in one of Colorado's prettiest areas, this Escape site provides the ultimate setting for learning and a winter get-a-way. Participants may stay at a variety of hotels or at suites available at the seminar venue.

Sessions will be held in Wen's Lafayette office location, which is located at one of Boulder County's largest event facility. You'll tour Wen's set-up and the event facility. You'll be able to meet the event facility staff who can give you a "vendor's perspective of how to market and network to such a facility.

Whether you are a veteran photographer, or one that is just starting out, this Escape is designed for those photographers who desire a hands-on experience in the production of a wedding. You'll work closely with Wen in the production of a wedding, from preview numbering and presentation to preparing order for the lab and final book production. After hours, there's plenty to do with Boulder's
Pearl Street Mall close-by.

One evening, participants will venture to
one of Boulder's trendiest eateries, Cafe Blue, for dinner and a wine sampling session. Participants will also be able to see
Cafe Blue's Wen Saunders Rodeo Photojournalism Gallery of images,
purchased as a permanent display
at the restaurant.
Come to town a few days early (or stay later) and enjoy skiing in nearby Breckenridge, Keystone, or Eldora.

PRESENTING THE IMAGES

Explore previewing options for both black and white and color images. You'll actually number a wedding (yours or Wen's), using a custom print numbering system, designed by Wen. This system allows you to know what format, what film, and what cameras were used, simply by the number system label attached to the preview (allowing you to track sales!). Wen will share the best preview book options.

Participants will also explore order form formats and contracts (camera-ready for your use). Level pricing and revising your price list is also discussed. Pricing previews in the level discussions will be highlighted. Discussions on Film verses Digital imagery will enlighten your mind and production options. Day 2:
BOOK DESIGNING
& PRODUCTION

Book Production Techniques

This session is designed to help participants development time management in the design and production of finished books. Participants will review Wen's actual wedding books, shown to clients. Bring images for your sample book and design it with Wen's help! Participants will use Montage album design software to design their sample book. This is a great opportunity to use Montage and ask questions about the album design software. Production short cuts, including archival black and white fiber paper production techniques and creative page designs will also be discussed. This is hands-on experience!

Day 3:
THE PRINT ORDER
customer order processing & lab ordering procedures

This session is designed to help participants development time management skills in the studio processing of re-orders and the book print order. We'll discuss order forms, negative masking or cataloging digital images, using the montage software all prints list to check in prints, preparing the lab order, creative image masking/cropping (cut you custom print options), and preparing the lab order. This session will streamline your production time! Creative framing options and resources will help increase your sales!
