Using A Disposable Camera To Document Your Vacation
Or Family Holiday
Children will learn techniques to
take better images with a disposable camera. Indoor and outdoor
photography will be discussed and photographed. After processing
the film with a trip to the local one-hour photo, each child will create
their own photograph album of images. One image for each child
will be selected for mounting, ready for framing. Each child will be
given a coupon for a FREE roll of processing with 9 rolls processed
throughout the year.

Camera Operation
Learn and understand the parts of a
camera and how they function. Camera maintenance will be discussed. We’ll
evaluate f-stop (aperture) basics. You'll not only have a keen
understanding of f-stop characteristics, but also discover the best f-stop
decisions. Topics: Minimum and maximum depth of field, aperture
priority, proper film loading, rewinding partially exposed rolls of film
for re-use, selecting the proper f-stop. Participants will shoot a black
and white assignment, with Wen's supervision. |

Shutter
Speeds Control
Learn how to select the right shutter
to help create better images. Advantages of slow and fast shutter
speeds will be discussed. Participants will shoot an assignment during
this session. Film provided. |

Introduction
To B&W Photography
Children will use their 35mm cameras
(older manual cameras are the best) and black and white film to experience
the basics of photography and film exposure. Everyone will process their
exposed film (as a team). After a tour of Wen's darkroom, participants
will see how contact sheets are made of their images. In addition, a
print enlargement will be demonstrated. Contact sheets will be mounted,
ready for framing. (A limited number of 35mm cameras are available
for rent, if needed). Each child will be given a coupon for a FREE roll of
processing with 9 rolls processed throughout the year.

Film speeds have never been
higher! Explore the advantages and disadvantages of film speeds
from ISO 400-3200. Color and Black & white films will be
discussed and demonstrated. Experiment with ISO 3200 black &
white film (provided) exposure without a flash. |

B/W Infrared Film
Infrared film can provide a very
artistic rending of life's boring situations. If Infrared
photography interests you, but you're afraid to shoot it or have had
unsuccessful results, then you will gain a better under- standing of the
principles of infrared in this session. Wen will discuss the
"zen" of infra. Topics: Effects of Infrared, The NoNos
of Infra, Exposure Decisions, Focusing Perils, and Infra Film
Options. You'll shoot with black and white Infrared film, with
Wen's supervision. This class always fills early! Register now!
Discover how to use this unpredictable film and how to expose
properly. Participants will photograph step by step infrared subject
matter. |

your flash? This session will give you confidence to easily use your
flash. Topics: Shadowless images, reducing red-eye, using a
LumiQuest bouncer, fast recycle times with battery pack options,
adjusting exposures for particular lighting conditions. |
