For over 22 years, Wen Saunders continues to photograph weddings journalistically.  With a BFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, she adds an artistic twist to the journalistic coverage. 

She is known nationally for cutting edge concepts such as the wedding ArtBox of images (individual images mounted on  mats displayed in a leather box). She is also credited with bringing back black and white images into the wedding coverage.  Wen is a true leader in wedding photojournalism and continues to set creative standards for photographers throughout this area and the nation.

Black and white images are created from the best black and white films and printed by Wen Saunders on archival fiber papers presenting clients with museum quality images.  Creative custom darkroom printing techniques bring emotion to the photograph.  Today, custom b/w darkroom printing is becoming a lost art.  Wen is proud to carry on this creative process of image making.

All color previews are presented in a book and are included in the pricing  structures.  It seemed silly to document the event with 500+ images and have the client only walk away with just a few. Now clients have them all!

We document throughout Colorado and cover the front range and western slope areas without a travel fee.  These areas include the Boulder-Denver area, Beaver Creek,Vail, Estes Park, Keystone, Aspen, Breckenridge, Telluride, Durango, and Pagosa Springs.

Both medium and 35mm format cameras are used during the event.  Typically twelve cameras are juggled, each loaded with varying films (ISO 400-3200) and lens (15mm-300mm).  We go beyond just making pretty pictures or candids!

Wedding Photo Essay pricing structures start from $3,500 and include two books (Preview Book of 500+ images and another ArtBook of wedding images book of 60-65 images or Artbox of 20 images), and negatives.  Please contact the studio for specific pricing details to suit your custom needs.
